BOY SCOUTS.
On Saturday afternoon the First Ponsonby Battalion of Boy Scouts received an official visit from Dr. John S. Purely, captain-in-spector of the boy. scout movement in Auckland district. About 50 boys wore on parade and 26 offered' themselves for examination; in the. second-class test as laid down in " Scouting for Boys." 'It is gratifying' to note that all * the boys passed the ' test successfully. Included in the test iis an elementary knowledge of first aid, signalling, knot-tieing, tracking,'and cooking.
