YOUTHS IN TROUBLE.

[BY telegraph.—special correspondent.] Wellington, Sunday. Four youths appeared in the Magistrate's Court on Friday afternoon, in connection with some dozen charges of breaking and entering dwelling-houses in the neighbourhood of Island Bay, and shops in and about the city. The burglaries had been going on for some months, but the detectives were unsuccessful in their efforts to run to earth the offenders. In searching through one of the raided houses, an inscription in blue pencil was discovered on the back of a picture hanging on the wall. Art illustration of a club prefaced the writing, which ran as follows :—''A slite reminder. This is the knock-out geer. Please don't interfeer with us. This is what we call hour home. We are only taking stock of what you have got. I remain, yours truly, 'Friend.' " The following also appeared in ink :— "This is my hand writing." Following up this clue, Detectives Kemp and Hammond arrested the youths. Accused pleaded guilty, arid were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.' The collection of articles exhibited in Court included knives, forks, spoons, guns; clubs, crockeiyware (ancient arid modern), rugs, a camera, clocks, lamps, a razor, articles of clothing, etc.
