LONG'S COLONIAL LIBRARY.

Amoxg recent publications in Mr. John Long's Colonial Library are : " The Real Man," by Henry Byatt; "The One Moment," by Lucas Cleeve; "The Eour Candles," by Harry Tighe; "The Penalty," by James Blyth ; and The Summer Wreath," by Mrs. Campbell Praed. Of these, "The Four Candles'.' and The Summer Wreath" are both apparently Australian, but the former might be written of any country; the latter is a collection of short stories by the always interesting Queensland writer. Most of stories deal with the inevitable problem, Mr. Blyth discussing the meaning of virtue in his usual vigorous style, Mr. Tighe the maternal instincts, and Lucas Cleeve the vagaries of conduct. Mr. Byatt weaves an interesting romance around the physical similarity of a -controlled millionaire and an uncontrolled ad venturer. . j ■ ■ }, ~.
