FIRE IN RICHMOND.
FACTORY PARTLY GUTTED.
What proved a difficult fire to suppress broke out last night in the bedding factory in Sackville-streeti Richmond, owned and occupied by. Tattersfield and Co. The flames' were first noticed about 11.30, and when the Richmond Fire Brigade turned out, under Foreman Tart/it was discovered that the fire, which had evidently started in some sacks under kapok, had a strong hold on a quantity of bedding and bales of kapok. Two leads poured a good pressure of water on the flames, but it was one a.m. before they were subdued. In the interim the contents of the factory suffered considerably from fire and water, principally the latter, and the front portion of the building was gutted. The insurances on the building and stock are:—Liverpool and London and Globe, £237 Victoria, £237; Phcenix, £200. • .- ■ -■-:;■ - ■
