SEEKING BETTER CONDITIONS. Tin; monthly meeting of the Auckland Clerks' Union was held at the clubrooms, High-street, last night, when a fair number of members were present. Letters were received from various towns throughout the Dominion inquiring for full particulars as to the formation of the union. The secretary was instructed to reply accordingly. A scheme was submitted for the affiliation of all prospective clerical unions throughout the colony. Reference was also made to amalgamating with the Australian Union, wTiose headquarters are at Sydney. It was decided, however, to leave this matter for future consideration. Several new members were proposed. As the union is now firmly established, it was decided to call a general meeting of clerks at an early date. .
