THE WOOL SALES.
FLEECE "POURING IN" AT
GISBORNE.
[BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN. CORRESPONDENT.}
.' Gisbor'ne, Tuesday. A large quantity of wool was brought into the various mercantile stores to-day from different parts of the country. Owing to the wet weather in the early part of the season, up to the present the number of bales to hand is less than that for the same period last year. The recent spell of dry weather, however, has enabled operations to proceed, with the result that the golden fleece is literally pouring in,, and the rush is expected to continue for some time. Two Home steamers are loading in the port, and are expected to take large cargoes of wool and, meat.
