Mr. M. li. Watking wrote complaining that his land was over-assessed. He urged the Board to be careful and keep down expenditure. It was reported that another: settler had threatened the first man who attempted to put a spade on his property to dig drains. The Xamahere. Road Board having declined to pay over- the £5 it had promised to contribute towards the cost of Clark's bridge, it was resolved to hold Mr. Clark personally responsible
