A TAURANGA SETTLEMENT.
[by telegraph.— correspondent.] Wellington, Thursday. The proprietors of Tauranga Gasworks (Messrs. R. Keene and J. Rcid, of Wellington) have recently let a contract for the roading of a 10,000-acre block, 12 miles from Tauranga. This . block has been cub up into small dairy farm allotments, which are to be sold after the roading of the whole block is completed. In connection with this scheme, provision is being made for a township with 90fl. streets, to be called Maramara—the name of the block. Messrs. Keene and Reid have already received applications for some, of the farms, but so far none have been allotted. They are both very optimistic regarding the future of the district. '
