The event of the week in Northern Union circles, says the Athletic News of July 19, has been the "settling down" of Herbert Sydney Turtill, tho fullback who played in England during the tour of the New Zealand professional " All Blacks." Probably the announcement that Turtill has gone to St. Helens, a by no means wealthy organisation, will cause surprise; but there wcro other interests than football in tho matter. Turtill's inclinations have been for St. Helens for some time, and when the club secured him remunerative employment the rest was easy.
