It, Haselden, S.M., gave judgment in the case of Peter John Carroll v. the Christchurch Tramway Board, . Plaintiff.;, claimed . £60 damages for injuries sustained on July 16 throug; )';.* gig in which plaintiff Was driving being struck by a tramcar. The magistrate found the driver of the car guilty of negligence in not applying the brakes when he saw plaintiff in trouble with a frightened horse that had backed the gig . into the wheel of a: meat van. Damage*! to the extent of £40 were allowed. ■
