BLACK BASS.

STOCKING AN AFRICAN LAKE. By Telegraph—Press Association.—Copyright. New York, September 22. At ex-President Roosevelt's request the United States Bureau of Fisheries is sending a supply of black bass for Lake Naivasha, British East Africa, consigned in a similar manner to the rainbow trout sent to New Zealand from the United States.

Mr. Roosevelt's party have been in British East Africa since the end •of April. Starting out from Mombasa, their general route is up the Uganda River to Nairobi and Lake Victoria Nyanza, thence crossing into Uganda, and finally passing down the Nile to Cairo, which, it is expected, will be reached in April of next year.
