BENZINE EXPLOSION.

A fishixg launch owned by a man named Martin Hermansen was anchored off the Chetwedes the other day (says the Pelorus Guardian), and the owner and another man turned in for thti night. It is supposed that while asleep they dislocated with their feet the pipe connecting the benzine tank and the oil ran out. Early next morning, while Hermansen was trying to repair the break, the other man meanwhile holding a lantern some distance away, an explosion : occurred,, and the launch became a mass of flames. Hermansen had some difficulty in getting out, and when ho came through the flames he was terribly burned about the legs, his arms and face also being burned. His mate took him to the nearest neighbour's (Mr. Ward, Forsyth Island), and then he was taken to Havelock, where he was attended to by Dr. Williams. His injuries, though extremely painful, are notlikely to become serious. . '
