EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Tuesday. The sixteenth week of the North Island Egglaying Association's third competition was concluded on Friday. The egg yield for the week was 1783, the grand total being 17,068. The highest layings for the week were Championship class : Dominion Poultry Plant's white Leghorns, 29; W. G. Goodwin's white Leghorns, 29. Light breeds: W. Runciman's brown Leghorns 30; lire. Minchin's white Leghorns, 30; Jl' Roberts' brown Leghorns, 30; C. A. Care's white Leghorns, 30; W. M. Bankart's white Leghorns 30; W. G. Care's white leghorns, 50. Heavy breeds: F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons, 36; J. I. Wliitehouse s buff Orpingtons, 34; Miss o! Roberta' silver Wyandottes, 34. The leading pen« to date are -Championship class :A. R. Browne's white Leghorns, 289. Light breeds: J. Cooke's white Leghorns, 380; W. Runcimun's brown Leghorns, 359; A. 11. Padman's white Leghorns, 357 Heavy breeds: F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons 423; C. M. Peck's black Orpingtons, 322: J. L Whitehouse's buff Orpingtons, 318.
