A SIMPLE REMEDY. SAID TO RELIEVE RHEUMATISM, AND ANYONE CAN PREPARE IT. Thousands of men and women who have felt the sting and torture of this dread disease, which is no respecter of age, person, sex, nation, or rank, will be interested to know that while for many years rheumatism was considered an incurable disease, now it is one of. tho easiest afflictions of the human body to conquer. Medical science has proved that it is not a disease in itself, but is a symptom caused by inactive kidneys. Rheumatism is uric acid in tho blood and other waste products of tho system which should be filtered and strained out in the form of urine. Tho function of the kidneys is to sift these poisons and acids out, and keep the blood clean and pure. The kidneys, however, aro of sponge-like substance, the holes or pores of which will sometimes, either from over-work, cold, or exposure, become clogged and inactive, and, failing in their function of eliminating these poisons from the blood, they remain in the veins, decompose, and settling about tho joints and muscles cause tho untold pain and suffering of rheumatism and backache, often producing complications of bladder and urinary disease, weakness, etc. The following simple prescription is said to relievo the worst cases of rheumatism, because of its direct action upon the blood and kidneys, relieving, too, the most severe forms of bladder and urinary troubles: — Tincture Gentian Compound, one ounce; Syrup Rhubarb, one ounce; Liquid Barkola Compound, one ounce; and Svrup of Ginger, fivo ounces. Mix by shaking well in a bottle, and take one teaspoonful after each meal and one before retiring for the night. The ingredients can bo had from any good chemist, and, being purely vegetable, are entirely harmless, and safe to use at any time.

When troubled with constipation, try Chamberlain's Tablets. They are easy to take and produce no ariDiusr or other Unpleasant effect.
