RESTORED AFTER OPERATION. Si';nor Carttso has left Milan for Ostend with his voice completely restored. For 10 days after the surgical operation on the right vocal chord he had to observe the strictest silence, and for 10 days following he was allowed to speak very little,; and in a low tone. Only at the end of these 20 days did the first, trial of his voice take place, -which, to everybody's satisfaction/ shows the restoration of its pristine purity."
