NORTHERN UNION GAME.
AUCKLAND V. TARANAKI. The first representative game to be played this season under the Northern Union rules will eventuate to-day at Victoria Park, when the Auckland League's representatives meet the Taranaki team. Both teams are reported in good fettle, the visitors, despite their rough trip from New Plymouth to Onehunga, being full of confidence as to the result. They were met at Onehunga by tho executive of the Auckland Rugby League yesterday morning, and brought into town. They speak of tho probability of a league being formed in Taranaki, and will hold a conference while here with the local authorities, when details of organisation and management will bo discussed. The Taranaki team had a practice yesterday afternoon. The following are the teams for to-day:— AUCKLAND. Fullback: S. Houghton. Threequarters: Chorley, Woodward, Carlaw. Five-eighths: J. R. Wynyard, McDonald. Halfback: Jackson. Forwards: Wills, Mackrell, Dunning, Griffin, Linkhorn, Seagar. TABANAKI. Fullback: A. Hardgrave. Threequarters: E. Buckland, C. Moir, C. Mac Lean. Five-eighths: W. McLean. Halfbacks B. Frewin, W. Morey. Forwards: L. Walsh, W. Morris, S. Stroud, E. Haskell, T. Smith, and B. O'Driscoll. Mr. L. B. Todd will act as referee
JUNIOR MATCH. A junior match between teams representing the North Shore Albions and a town team will be played at two o'clock this afternoon as a curtain raiser" to tho representative! match. The following are tho teams: — North Shore ,Albions: Nicholson, Patrick, R. Allen, Fleming, Bailey, Gerrard, F. Shaw, Allen, J. Baker, C. Wells, Stevens, Bonner, Hand, H. Seagar, Ferguson, and N. Wells. Town: Todd, Pearson, Oakley, J. Kelly, C. Webb, P. Webb, Lynch, Cox, Callaghan, Hunter, Simpson, Cantell, Whitmoro, Mulholland, Farrant, Smith, Orn&tein. Tho team will play in red and white jerseys. Mr. F. Gladding will act as referee.
THE ASSOCIATION GAME.
MATCHES POSTPONED.
All matches will bo postponed to-day, with ono exception, that being the cup final between Ponsonhy and North Shore B. Eden Park, at Kingsland, is under water, hence the necessity for declaring all division matches off. " The cup final will be played at tho Domain, and should provide an exciting contest, with the chances in Ponsonby's favour. °
The Corinthian club will hold their annual " smoker" next Saturday evening.
