: Hamilton, Thursday. The Waikato musical and' elocutionary competition.") commenced 'yesterday afternoon and were continued in the evening. There was 'a large audience on each occasion. The following are the results of yesterday's competitions :—

Afternoon.—Pianoforte duet (pupils under 16) Misses Doris and Ruth Saunders (Cambridge), " Feu et Flamme," 78 points, 1; Miss Ethel Morse and Master Charlie Sharp (Cambridge), " Dance Rustlque," 57 points, 2. Tenor solos: Mr. J. T. Osborn (Waihi), " I Seek for Thee," 86 point*, 1;, Mr. Ft. Morris Wild (Frankton), " The Message," 65 points, 2; Mr. J. Hindman (Hamilton), "My Pretty Jane," 79 points,.3. Recitations (open): Miss Gladys Jcnkin (Hamilton), " The Two Angels;" Mr. W. Millane (Wellington), and Mr. George Newsome (Hamilton), " Mark Antony's Oration," tied, and will be called upon, to recite again. Evening.— Bass solo: Mr. W. Powell (Waihi), "-The Skipper." 88 points, 1; the Rev. H. L. Rlamlres (Hamilton), " The Gladiator," 75 points, 2; Mr. I*. R.'H. Morrlsby (Ruakura), from "Oberon In Fairyland,'' 65 points, 3; Mr. A. B. Clarke (Hamilton), "Out on the Deep," 60 points, 4.
