TAKINGS OVER £500.
[BT TELEGEATH-OWN CORRESPONDENT.} Hamilton*. Sunday. The Waikato Winter Show was brought to a conclusion last night, the attendance throughout the day being large, and the spacious building being thronged at night, right up to the hour of closing. Til© takings at the door just exceeded the splendid total of £500, which is over £150 more than last year. Yesterday a show of children's pets and dogs was held, and a dog trial took place.. Before the closing of the show Mr. J. S. Bond, president of the association, addressed the crowd, and referred to the success of the exhibition, which had exceeded the most sanguine anticipations of the committee. He thanked all who had "worked so hard to ensure that success, and said that everything had passed off most satisfactorily, no hitch or friction being experienced throughout the five days. The results of yesterday's competitions aro as follows: — Rough-haired collies: D. Fraser, 1; A. Peterson, 2; Misii Giland, 3. Smooth-haired collies: W. Gordon, 1; G. M. Waauingham, 2. Bearded collies: S. Thompson, 1 and 2; G. Petersen, 3. Old English sheep dog (bobtail): G. Jamieson, 1. Cattle dog: G. Jamieson, 1; O. J. Corboy, 2; Wolfield, 3. Spaniels: Mrs. F. Webb, 1 and 2. Cocker spaniels: S. S. Paull, 1. English setter: J. H. Whitton, 1 and 2. Gordon setter: J. J. Box, 1; T. F. Jolly, 2. Smooth-haired fox terriers: J. J. Mclnnoy, 1. Irish terriers: J. H. Whitton, 1.
