PAYING LABOUR MEMBERS.
DRAIN ON UNION FUNDS. By Telegraph.Press Association.— (Received July 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, July 10. Another trade unionist has obtained an injunction to prevent the South Wales Miners' Federation from devoting its funds to pay salaries to Labour members of the House of Commons.
The Court of Appeal in November last unanimously decided that a trades union is not empowered to levy money to support members of the House of Commons. In February last the Pontypridd County Court granted an injunction against the South Wales Miners' Federation with respect to the levying of money for the support of Labour members in the House of Commons, and a similar injunction was granted by the Chancery Court against the London Society of Compositors.
