Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of Section 70 of "Municipal Corporations Act, '19C8." of Section 29 of " Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act. 1908." it is the intention of the Parnell Borough Council, on MONDAY, the 21st day of June, 1909. to make and levy a General Rate of One Shilling and Three Pence (Is 3d) in the £, a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of Three Pence (3d) in the £, and Special Rates of Eight Pence (8d) in the £. on the ratable value of the ratable properties within the Borough for the period of twelve months, commencing on the Ist day of July, 1909, and terminating on the 30th day of June, 1910. and payable, in respect of the General Rate and of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate, in one sum, on the 7th day of July, 1909. at the Borough Council Office, and in respect of the Special Rates, in two equal amounts, on the 7th day of July, 1909, and the 7th day of January. 1910. An Estimate of the proposed Expenditure of the Council for the year 1909-1910. and approved by it, showing the sums available, the additional sum required, and the total ratable value of all properties on the Valuation Roll, and also the Rate Book, now lies for inspection at the Borough Council during office hours. NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of The Grey Lynn Borough Council, incorporated under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act. 1908" (hereinafter called " The Local Authority") to apply to His Excellency the Governor-in-Council for an Authorising Order under the provisions of " The Tramways Act, 1908" (unless forbidden by the ratepayers in the manner prescribed by the said Actl authorising the extension within the District of the Local Authority of the tramways known as the Auckland Suburban Electric Tramways. AND FURTHER, that in the event of such Authorising Order being granted it* is the intention of the Local Authority on the granting of the same (unless forbidden by the Ratepayers as aforesaid) to delegate the authority conferred bv such Order to The Auckland Electric Tramways Company, Limited, by virtue of tho powers, vested in the Local Authority, Section 9 of the said Tramways Act. , THE PARTICULARS of the proposed undertaking and of the delegation thereof are as follows: — A. THE DESCRIPTION of the proposed j works is an extension from the present terminus of the Grey Lynn Tramway at the junction of Surrey Crescent Road with the Great North Road, to and along Surrey descent Road and Richmond Avenue to its junction with War-nock-street, such extension to be worked by applied electric power by means of the overhead trolley system in the same method as the tramway already constructed by the said Company under and by virtue of a certain Deed of Dele- ■ gation from the Local Authority to the said Company, bearing date the Second dav of August, 1901 (hereinafter called " The Grey Lynn Deed of Delegation No 1"). and to be constructed in the manner mentioned in the Grey Lynn Deed of Delegation No. 1. B. THE PLANS AND cross sections showing the nature of the work and the line of construction are deposited for public inspection jn the Office of the Local Authority, Williamson Avenue, Grey Lynn. \ C. IT IS INTENDED that, the authority contained in the said authorising Order shall be delegated by the Local Authority to The Auckland Electric Tramways Company, Limited. D. A GENERAL DESCRIPTION of the terms Bind conditions subject to which the delegation.is to be made is as follows: —All the powers and authorities of the Local Authority under the Order-in-Council shall be delegated to the said Company for the period of Thirty-three years from the date of the Order-in-Council. The Company shall complete the said extension and have it open for traffic within Eighteen months from the , date of the Oraor-in-Council and shall thereafter during the said period keep and maintain a line of tramway upon tin route mentioned in Clause A hereof and run cars thereon according to Time-tables upon the terms and conditions and under and subject to the powers and remedies of the Local Authority in ease of default mentioned or referred to in the proposed Deed of Delegation, with liberty to the Local Authority to purchase the Undertaking of the said Company at the time and in manner therein mentioned. COPIES of the proposed Order-in-Council and of the proposed Deed of Delegation, top-ether with Copies of the Original Order-in-CounciJ for the Auckland Suburban Electric Tramways, dated the .Twenty-seventh day of April, 1901. and of the. said Grev Lynn Deed of Delegation No. 1, are deposited and open for public inspection at the Office of the Local Authority before mentioned.
