A PROHIBITION REMOVED. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. .London, April 27. M. Camille Saint-Saens' opera " Samson and Delilah," written by the French composer in 1877, was produced in Covent Garden Theatre last night.
The production of the opera in England was previously impossible, the censor having prohibited it, owing to its theme being Biblical. Queen Alexandra secured the withdrawal of the censor's prohibition.
