PENALTY FOR TWO-UP.

Paeeoa, Wednesday. On a recent Sunday afternoon Constable Butler made a raid on a two-up school nt Karangahake, and secured the names of several of those who were alleged to have been playing the game. Thirteen of them were charged at the Paeroa Police Court to-day with having played two-up, their names being: Edward Ward, George Johnson, Christopher Bony, Alfred Kealing, Joseph Radiwalde, Thomas Miley, John McCaron, Mark Coleman, James Bidois, Charles Dillimore, William Dormer, Mbrtin Ryan, and Edward McMahon. Miley pleaded guilty, while the others denied the charge. After hearing the evidence, the Bench fined Miley £2, and the others £3 each, in default seven days' imprisonment.
