I SOME SMART PERFORMANCES. [BY telegraph.— press ASSOCIATION.] " Wellington, Thursday. In a swimming match at tho Thorndon baths to-night three competitors boat the New Zealand record of 64 4-ss. over tho 100 yds, Roberts taking 62 4-55., Ronayne 635., and Healey 645. It is probable, however, these times will not bo accepted as. official, owing to the baths being 9in short of 50yds, so that tho actual distance covered was only 93£ yds. In a match at To _Aro baths, B. C. Freyberg swam 440 yds in 6m. Bs., which time equals the New Zealand record.
