OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.
A STORE DESTROYED. [BY TELEGRAPH.-—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ' Thames, Thursday. Information was received at Thames today that Bourke and Scotcher's store at Kereepehi, on the Eiako, was burned to I the ground last night. . No particulars are available. ;-. WEDDING PRESENTS LOST. [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Feilding, Thursday. -. !■ A serious'fire occurred about & mile.from town this afternoon, .a dwellinghouse, the property of Mr. L. M. Horrocks, being completely'destroyed. A piano and a few articles of furniture were saved. The fire originated in the wash-house. The house was finished two months ago. Mr. Horrocks was married last month, and the ! losses' include a collection of valuable wedding presents. The insurance on the : house, which cost over £1100, was £800, but no policy was held on the furniture. ANOTHER OUTBREAK AT GORE. [BT telegraph.— association.] Gore, Thursday. • Fire broke out again in Simon McDonald's drapery shop at one o'clock this morning, but was extinguished promptly after a little more damage had been done." The insurances are: Building, £650: stock, £800 (both in the Royal). McDonald estimates his loss on stock at £300 '■ to £400. Samuel McDonald, bootmaker, who occupied the adjoining premises, is insured for £800 in the North British and Mercantile, and £800 in the Alliance.
