CLAIM FOR MAINTENANCE..; ;. At the Police Court yesterday, an order, j," was made by Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., , against John R. M. Stewart, an insurant | agent, for the payment of £10 lis 4d per ; i month towards the support of his three. ; : illegitimate children, who are living with - .; their mother at Ponsonby. Mr. Singer, who appeared for the plaintiff, called evidence to show that since di«- .-••' continuing a monthly payment of £8 in respect- to;the maintenance of 4 these children, the defendant had goffered, to £PQ§j|Jj the plaintiff £10 : per month,' but ; subsequently. withdrew the . offer. Mr. C. J. Parr, counsel for the defend- ? ant, said'that besides these children; his • client had a wife and family of eight tfi support out of a salary of £450.
