BURNED TO DEATH.

[by TELEGRAPH.PRESS association. Hastings, Monday. An inquest was held to-day touching the death of Periva (or Pellor), a native of Ceylon, aged about 45 years, who was fatally burned at Karamu station on Saturday night. The Coroner returned a verdict that deceased met his death owing to being badly burned whilst in a state of intoxication. He was satisfied that every reasonable attempt was made to rescue deceased from the burning building, and that he was properly oared for afterwards. * ■ ,
