COLLEGE FOR MAORI GIRLS.

Christchurch, Wednesday. The Te Wai Pounamu College for Maori Girls will be opened by Bishop Julius at Onoka to-morrow afternoon. The object o£ the college is to train Maori girls selected from different parts of the South Island mentally, physically, spiritually, and in domestic affairs, so that when they return to their people they will be able to give the benefit of their training to their native sisters. } Mrs. Miller, of Dunedin, has been appointed principal of the college. The building will accommodate 12 girls at present.
