Some little time ago sailing ve*#el* homeward bound from New Caledonian port* were somewhat of a feature in the overdue market Those vessels were reported one by one, and so were removed from the list. More recently, however, a big French sailing vessel, the Mistral, of Mar. seilles, has been quoted as overdue. She is going home from Tehlo, New Caledonia, to Havre, having begun- her voyage on September 6. The Mistral- has some excellent passages standing to her credit. On one occasion she sailed from New Caledonia with a cargo of nickel ore to the Clyde in less than three months. Her exact time was 87 davs from her loading port to the Tail of the Bant. Just prior to that voyage she had made an equally commendable outward passage. The Mistral, a steel four-masted barque of 2755 gross tons, was built at Nantes in 1901. She is owned bv the. Societe Marseillaise de Voiliers. and is the largest of their fleet of five sailing ships, .THE TNDRADEYi. , At 12.45 p.m.* yesterday the Tyier liner Inriradevl arrived from New York, via Australia, and, being granted pratique, berthed at Queen-street Wharf. The ludradevi commenced her voyage on December 20, and met with fine weather until January 13,. thence strong winds ' and high, following seas till arrival at Melbourne on February 13. ' After : discharging cargo at Melbourne the vessel proceeded to -Sydney, where further freight was unloaded. a> On the 25th alt the Indradevi took her departure, from Sydney for Auckland, and encountered strong E.N.E. winds and heavy head seas till Sunday, thence fine weather till reaching port.. During the initial stages of the voyage the weather was extremely cold, the thermometer registering as low as I2deg. Captain A. E. Holllngworth is still in command of the vessel, and has with him the following officers:—Chief, Mr. P. L. Webster: second. Mr. H E.H. Croft; third, Mr. A. D. Young; fourth, Mr.' Cromby. Mr. Miller is chief engineer, Mr. Dix second, Mr Bnrtlett third, and Mr. Met* calfe fourth. Mr. Bonson is the chief refrigerator, and Mr. Burford second. On discharge of her Auckland merchandise the Indradevi leaves for the South. / --.
