THE TWO DAYS SERVICE TO WELLINGTON.
Sir,—-When you found fault with the night departure of the th rough express to Wellington, we were all told by the 'Railway Department that there would bo a two days' daylight service - between Auckland and Wellington. What has become of this pro-; mised /service ■'". At , present, r unless you - use 5 ;■ the through express,' it takes three days. If you leave Wellington ?> by : the ordinary ■ ,; express at 7.50 fon a Monday morning it would be 5 o'clock on Wednesday even- " ing before you could reach Auckland, taking ■, 57 hours to make the trip. Going South you can arrive : in* Wellington earlier on the ' third day. Most of the trouble is caused ,' by the poor service between . Ohakune and Taumarunui. There is not a single train that '. arrives at Taumarunui from the South during the hours of daylight, and I trust you will endeavour to hold the Department to the definite promise they made during the discussion re the running of the Main Trunk ; , 'trains.
