The officer in charge of tho Dominion cadets, Colonel Lovcday, left Auckland yesterday afternoon for Thames to attend "the Omaha encampment. The colonel expects that fully 400 cadets will take part in the encampment which commences at Papakura on Monday, March 1. The boys will spend a week in camp, and arrangements have been made for a special train to leave Auckland for Papakura on Wednesday, March 3, to convey friends and relatives to the canvas settlement. Lieut.-Colonel Loveday expresses surprise at the attitude taken up by- the headmasters and assistant masters in Auckland with regard to i.iio cadet movement. He states that the camps in the Auckland province have attained all the success; that is claimed for them.
