SEVERE EARTHQUAKE.

DESTRUCTION IN ASIA MINOR. By Telegraph.—rress Association.—Copyright London, February 18. An earthquake was experienced at Sivas, in Asia Minor, yesterday. The shock was a heavy one, and 430 houses were destroyed. Lighter tremors, which preceded the main shock, alarmed the inhabitants, who fled into the streets, with the result that when the buildings collapsed they were empty, and but few fatalities occurred. Sivas, on the Kizil Irmak, is an important centre of caravan routes, and has a population of about 40,000, a largo proportion being Armenians and Greeks.
