CANDIDATE FOR PARLIAMENT By Telegraph.—r-ress Association.—Copyright. London, February 5. The Portsmouth Conservatives have selected General Hutton as their candidate for the general elections.

Major-General Sir Edward Hutton commanded the military forces in New South Wales from 1893 to 1896, and during the latter year was president of the military conferences in Australia. In. 1901, after having taken part in the South African war, General Hutton returned to Australia, and commanded and organised the military forces until 1904.
