. > Berlin, January 25. Tiie Kaiser requests the German press to refrain from publishing further news of his doings. His Majesty states that he desires to live as quiet a life as possible.
The severe disapproval which the recent indiscretions of the Kaiser in meddling with foreign affairs called forth in the Reichstag' has had its effect, the Kaiser having taken the lesson to heart. It is reported that ever since the crisis he has been living almost the life of a recluse. He owns about 50 castles, and a recent cable stated that he was about to sell five of them, as part of his scheme of retrenchment.
