AN ABUNDANT HARVEST.
■ I [BY TELEGRAM. —PHES3 ASSOCIATION.] . CnßisTfJU'Rcu, Sunday. Rain records for the month of November showed only a trace, and farmers feared they were about to face a season of drought. December returns show a rainfall of over three and a-half inches, and the total for 1908 i* nearly 25Jin, which is quite up to the average, and grain prospects are the best for many years. Harvesting will bo general in the vicinity of Christ-church in a week of ten daye, and, though the mid-Canterbury is the best grain region in the Dominion, harvesting there will not be in full swing for a fortnight at least. The area under cereals ie very large, and the yield is expected to be abundant. Labour is plentiful, and weather conditions are excellent.
