Wellington, Monday. Daniel Leonard, a driver, was seriously injured while working on the Queen's Wharf this morning, through a hardwood telegraph pole freeing itself from ;, the grips and striking him on the neck. He was taken to the hospital. . "
Napier, Monday. Moses Lamont, a driver, was seriously injured through falling off a dray on Saturday night. One wheel of the vehicle passed over both his legs, which were badly fractured, one in three places. Invercarc ill, Monday.' :
A railway fireman, named Norman Thomson, aged 23, had his foot so severely crushed this morning that amputation was necessary. Having . set the points, he jumped on to the engine. His foot slipped, and the wheel passed over his ankle 1 crushing it. • , . -'- -•■"•■•-. - .:.-•.'.'
