THE MODERN CHEQUE.
The current number of the Bankers' Magazine- draws attention to the dimension and elaboration of the modem cheque, and pleads in the interests of business for more uniformity. The normal : size of a cheque for one signature is 3£in by 7in, and that for two signatures 4|in by 7in. Some cheques, however, are; as : large as B£in by llin, arid others are as small as 3|in by 2in. Exigencies of business have made the advertisement cheque a growing custom. One cheque exhibits pictures of eight places of business of the firm, including the stables, with a list of departments of the business. Another proclaims the excellence of the sausages produced by the one who issues it, and on the third is a compressed essay on the benefits of.insurance. : . \ - :'*
