CASE FOR ARBITRATION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.]
Wellington, Friday. In forwarding to Mr. W. T. The Auckland tramwaymon, it is stated, would rather have (heir case heard by ho Arbitration Court than by one of the new councils of conciliation, as in the latter case the hearing might be delayed for some time.
Among the claims of the Auckland Union are iucreascd wages, motormen on cans with glass fronts to be paid Is Tjd per hour, and on other cars Is 3d per hour, 10 consecittiveidays' holiday each year on full pay, and payment at the rate of time and a-half for all time worked on the seven public holidays in the year. The council of the federation will shortly meet to consider the claims, and will afterwards advisi the Auckland Union of its decision.
