The congress -trill be divided into 11 sections, each -with president and vico-presidents chosen from among the most eminent members of the medical profession in Australia and New Zealand. Many important subjects will come before • the congress. General meetings will ho held to consider the relation of the medical . profession to hospitals, and also the ravages caused by specific diseases. In the domain of public health such subjects will engage attention as tho permanent white settlement of tropical Australia, the medical inspection of State school-children, municipal milk depots, the co-ordination of sanitary authorities and sanitary -work, and the improvement of vital statistics. In diseases of children, of the eye and ear, and of the skin a very full programme has be-on ; prepared. Anatomy, physiology, pathology, and bacteriology will show tho advance of'research in Australasia; and a naval and military section will discuss field medical science, army sanitation, and experience in South Africa,.
