MORE INSPECTORS WANTED.

[BY TBLWJKAPH.— OWW OORaiSPONDIITT.] Christchurck, Monday. It is not often that people are found clamouring for an increase of Government inspectors, but at the last meeting of the Canterbury Fruitgrowers' Association several members made a demand for an increase in the number of inspectors under the Orchard and Garden Pests Act. It was stated that the boundaries of the district under the control of Mr. Courtier, orchard inspector, extended from Kaikoura to the Bluff, and it was contended that it was utterly impossible for him to inspect satisfactorily all the orchards over such a wide area. The appointment of at least three inspectors for the territory under Mr. Courtier's control and the registration of all orchards were advocated. *
