Of the carcases of meat examined for export during the last official year, 8035 (.44 per cent.) sheep were condemned, 1695 (.06 per cent.) lambs, 3941 (4.79 per cent.) cattle, and 312 (3.61 per cent.) swine. With the exception of cattle and swine these figures, reports the ChiefVeterinarian, show a decrease on the previous year's figures. The number of head of cattle and swine found affected with tuberculosis at meat works and abattoirs is rather disquieting. Of 202,473 cattle examined 11,174 were . found to", be affected, or 5.51 per cent., against 4.88 per cent, in the previous year. Of 108,498 swine 7853 were affected, or 7.53 par cent., against 5.89 per cent, in the previous annual period. : .
