THE FISHING SEASON.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Wednesday. Prospects for the fishing season, which opens to-morrow, are good, said Mr. Tisdfk.ll to a Post reporter this morning. " The streams in the district should be well stocked, though it is impossible until the season has actually opened to discover what damage the drought last summer has done." The efforts of the Acclimatisation Society to establish the rainbow trout in the district, according to anglers generally, are liable to be defeated by a habit fishermen have of keeping every rainbow trout they catch. If this fine sporting fish is to . flourish, the specimens caught should he returned. ■ ■ PROSPECTS IN CANTERBURY. ', [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchhrch, Wednesday.
