A meeting of the Auckland Institute will be held in the Maori House, at. the Auckland Museum, on Monday evening. Professor F. D. Brown will read a paper on the "Measurement of Electric Waves,'' in which he will fully explain the mode that is followed, giving numerous experimental illustrations. Professor Segar will contribute a paper on the "Comparative Sanity oi the Immigrant and Native-born," in which he will discuss three questions: Are the native-horn of this country lees liable to insanity than the remainder of the population? Is the immigrant population of New Zealand more liable to insanity than the people they bare left behind in tho countries of their birth? And, have the women of this country an exceptionally small liability to insanity? These points are raised in Dr. Hay's recent report on mental hospitals. Professor Segar will also read a short note on the "Tiisection of an Angle," giving a remarkable approximate solution of the question. Olpyne for oroupv coughs and colds.
