STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.

POSTMASTER'S NARROW ESCAPE. Mr. A. Beanky, postmaster at Gilgandra, New South Wales, was struck by lightning while seated in a chair in the office during the passage of a thunderstorm. He was dazed, and thrown from his chair, but managed to reach his private residence. Ho then. fainted. Medical assistance was immediately summoned, and restoratives administered. He has recovered e.,i>fcciousness, and is now making satisfactory progress. The wires outside the office were fused. The instrument was not connected at the time, except locally.
