THE SEVENOAKS TRAGEDY.

London, September 9. Major-General Ltjard, whose wife was murdered at. a summer residence at Sevenoaks, Kent, in a letter to the newspaper, says that the public has been deeply stirred by the late awful crime.

He asks whether the time has not arrived for the clearing from the roads, lanes, and woods of the many thousands of unemployed, many of whom are desperate from want, and who may yield to sudden temptation and commit the worst of crimes.
