A novel system of enumeration and classification —for religious bodies, at any —has been introduced into the Roman Catholic parishes of Wellington. By aid of curd-index methods, the priests have been able to carry out a systematic visitation throughout their community. By this method they have taken a census of the Catholic population of Wellington, which has been found to number about 12,000.
