The: Ohinomuri River Board requested the Council to undertake on its behalf the work of clearing the willows from the river banks, and the Council agreed that it would ~ ■"■! do the work, but that nothing would be done until a,report had been received from Mr. Breakell, the, Government engineer. The residents of the Paeroa-Waitoa Road petitioned for this road to be repaired, and the Council agreed to mend the worst part. : A resolution was passed approving of the action .of the Coromandel people in taking :* steps to form Coromandel into a separte hospital and charitable aid district. Word was received that an employee of the Council, who was injured last March, and who had until lately been in the Thames Hospital, had been removed to a mental hospital, and that the insurance company would pay the Public Trustee £300 on bis account. A letter was received from the Mines Department agreeing to give a subsidy of £2 . for £1 for a water supply at Waikino, the Department's contribution not to exceed -£2568. ..-:,■■ The Council agreed to lay on a water supply to the Karangahake School of Mines for i the purpose of driving a Peltou wheel.
