A MEAN THEFT.
, ♦ [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wkllsfoko, Thursday. ' Mrs. Lennox, boardinghouse-keeper, of Te ' Haita, was robbed of £57 in gold and '' notes, on Tuesday evening. The money ' wad put in the pocket, of a coat, which ' was hung in the diningroom early in the ' evening, and when two hours later, Mix. k Lennon went to put it away, she found it ; gone. Constable Cowan and others were ' on the scene almost immediately, but no- ' tiling has been discovered to 'cad to thearrest of the thief. The £97 represents practically the whole of 'Mrs. Lennon's month's takings. Tuesday was pay day on the line.
