McNab to-night, in order to urge the necessity ot increasing the inadequate salaries paid to land valuer*. The deputation pointed out that much extra work was now entailed upon 'and valuers by the Advances to Settlors, Advances to Workers, and Lands for Settlement Acts, and it was absolutely necessary to secure and retain the services of the b.»t men.
