LAUD VALUERS SALARIES.

REQUEST FOP.-AN INCREASE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. A i-.uia*; and influential deputation, consisting of over 30 members of Parliament, waited, upon the Hon. P. McNab to-night, in order to urge the necessity ot increasing the inadequate salaries paid to land valuer*. The deputation pointed out that much extra work was now entailed upon 'and valuers by the Advances to Settlors, Advances to Workers, and Lands for Settlement Acts, and it was absolutely necessary to secure and retain the services of the b.»t men. The Hon. R. McNab expressed sympathy with the views expressed by the deputation, and said that' he had already decided to place a sum on the Supplementary Estimates for increased salaries for land valuers, and he hoped within a year to satisfactorily grade these officers.
