MILLS CLOSING DOWN. [by telegraph.press association.] ; - Wellington, Tuesday. | The Carterton News states that owing to , slackness of orders local sawmills contemplate closing down, thereby affecting 40 ' or 50 families of sawmiU workers. Sawmillers declare that they have a large stock h of timber, for which there is no sale. Workers are waiting on the member for the district and asking that the Government Should use native timber in'preference to imported.
