The anniversary ciilebrotioris in connection' with the Fonsonby Baptist Church were continned ' yesterday .-when a - tea and public meeting were held; ' The Rev. A. North (pastor) presided at the utter ' function/at r j which the annual report m connection with the church work was read.'' It -was, on the whole, of an encouraging nature, and paie a warm tribute to the manner in which the pastor had laboured on behalf of the church. 1* also mentioned thut an effort was to be made shortly to extinguish the small remaining church debt. The receipts during the year amounted to £524 :Is 6d.. Mr. North in a short address referred to the manner in which the officer? and ladies of the church had laboured in its interests, and he thank-ed-'them: heartily for their assistance. The congregation, he said, had given most liberally, and he was surprised and gratified.at the splendid response which had ;been made j; oB bfthalf of the Home and .Foreign Missions.
